Abstract

Entrepreneurs play a vital role in economic development, especially as a crucial source of employment and innovation. The study was conducted to determine the effect of entrepreneurial mentoring on the entrepreneurial values of undergraduate students. Data for the research were obtained from primary sources through a structured questionnaire. The three oldest universities in the North Western part of the country were selected, and the study adopted a
cross-sectional survey design; the sampling technique was multi-stage sampling. Three hundred and seventy-five questionnaires were administered. Data was analyzed using descriptive statistics of simple percentages, mean and standard deviation and inferential
statistics such as multiple regression and Pearson product-moment correlation coefficient. The findings revealed that entrepreneurial mentoring has a significant effect on entrepreneurial values. The P-values was found to be less than 0.05. The study concluded that there is a positive relationship between entrepreneurial mentoring and entrepreneurial business values of university students. The study thus recommended that adequate effort be made through
government policies in encouraging entrepreneurial mentoring in order to encourage undergraduate students in entrepreneurship, thereby ensuring the production of graduates that will create jobs and become self-reliant.
